When disaster strikes, communities rise—and The United Rosetta Miriam Project (URMP) is answering the call. In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, which recently devastated parts of Manchester and St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, URMP has launched a heartfelt fundraising campaign to bring urgent relief and long-term recovery support to the affected families.

Standing with Jamaica in a Time of Need

Hurricane Melissa brought torrential rains, flooding, and widespread damage across Jamaica’s western and southern parishes. Many residents have lost homes, farmlands, and access to essential services. As these communities work to rebuild, the need for resources—both immediate and sustainable—is urgent.

Recognizing this, The United Rosetta Miriam Project, known for its commitment to humanitarian outreach and community empowerment, has mobilized partners, donors, and volunteers to raise funds and deliver critical aid. The organization’s mission is rooted in compassion, unity, and service—values that shine especially bright in moments like this.

What the Relief Effort Supports

Funds raised through URMP’s Hurricane Melissa Relief initiative will go directly toward:

  • Emergency supplies such as food, clean water, clothing, and hygiene kits

  • Home repair assistance for families whose residences were damaged or destroyed

  • Support for farmers and small businesses impacted by the storm

  • Community rebuilding projects to restore infrastructure, schools, and places of worship

Every contribution helps provide tangible relief and renewed hope to those hardest hit.

How You Can Help

URMP is inviting friends, supporters, and the global Jamaican diaspora to stand in solidarity with Manchester and St. Elizabeth. Donations—whether large or small—will make a lasting impact.

A Message of Hope

“The spirit of Jamaica is one of resilience,” says Chaplain Hewton Fider, Director of URMP. “Even in the face of disaster, our people come together with strength and love. With the help of friends around the world, we will rebuild stronger than before.”

Through compassion, collective action, and the unyielding will of the Jamaican people, recovery is not just possible—it’s already underway. The United Rosetta Miriam Project invites everyone to be part of this journey of restoration and hope.
